Shiloh – Survivor #5
March 2, 2010 by Steve
After finding out that her husband had left her for his previous girlfriend, 19-year-old Danielle decided to abort her baby. Danielle had been adopted by a lesbian couple – both of whom had differing views on how to handle the pregnancy. One was adamant that she have an abortion while the other was opposed to it.
As Danielle traveled to a clinic in Wichita to have the abortion, she received a phone call from her mother encouraging her not to go through with it. Certain that her daughter would regret the decision for the rest of her life, Danielle’s mother offered to help her through the adoption progress. At that moment, Danielle decided to place her baby up for adoption. Several months later, Danielle came across Kristi and Steven’s adoption profile and knew they were the perfect parents for Shiloh.
Kristi had suffered from severe endometriosis for years and wasn’t able to have a child of her own. Kristi and Steven longed to have a child of their own and waited patiently on the adoption process. When Kristi and Steven held Shiloh for the first time, the years of waiting melted away. Shiloh was an amazing gift of life. Check out Shiloh’s survivor video here.

Hi Steve—
Thank you so much for this beautiful website! You are so right—this is certainly your calling and what the world needs to see. There are NO unwanted children in the world, and great love and joy abounds from even the most difficult of circumstances or unplanned pregnancy (as my life attests to).
I hope and pray that some day our paths cross….I would be honored to share my life, and my beautiful daughter’s life, with all of you….to think that my daughter never would have lived if my own mother’s abortion would have succeeded in ending mine is the most painful feeling I hope to ever experience. Our Olivia is God’s greatest gift to me, and certainly a part of His plan for sharing the message of the true reality of abortion with the world, just as your website does. All of these children are beautiful, wanted and loved!
God bless you and your work (and I will certainly be in touch if I’m out in your area of the U.S.)!
Steve,
This website is wonderful. I pray that many will visit the website and see that there are other choices than abortion out there. There are so many couples that are heart broken because they cannot give birth to children of their own. It isn’t just that couple that morns but their extended families as well. I remember many conversations with Kristi where we both cried before they adopted Shiloh.
Thank you for the feature on Shiloh.
I’m very thankful to be her Grandma Annette. She has brighten our lives. Every time I see her I want to thank her bio mom for not aborting her. Kristi and Steven lives have a fullness now that was missing before, and they are the greatest parents.
Hello Annette!
Shiloh is so amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her, Kristi and Steven. They are a wonderful family! God bless!
This is an awesome site!!! Steve & Kristi stayed at our house in KS, right after they got Shiloh, and before they could go back into MO. We love little Miss Shiloh! She’s such a joy and we love that she was given LIFE!!!
Dear Kristi,
You don’t know me but your Mom and I were girl friends many, many years ago back in Alma, AR!!!!!!! I Priase God for your story — through tears of joy I kept saying “thank you, Jesus” for this girl who was brave enough NOT to have an abortion and to give you and your husband this most precious of all gifts, your beautiful daughter!!! I just pray that all of the young girls who find themselves carrying life and don’t know what to do that they will CHOOSE LIFE so that more babies can be placed in loving arms such as yours!! You are an amazing family and I just know one day Shiloh will thank you (and God) for saving her life!! May God cotinue to bless you always.
I’m adopted and it’s so wonderful for a women to give this gift to a family that needs it! Yeah!!!
